01 Site Visit: A New Artery for the Canal—the Fourth Bridge Project

The 82-kilometer Panama Canal is a vital artery of global shipping. The Fourth Bridge over the Canal, now under construction, will become the fourth bridge across the Pacific entrance and further improve connectivity between the canal's two sides.

As a member of the Knowmads overseas executive study program, the chairman of Shanghai Farquan Industry Co., Ltd. visited the project site and observed this new benchmark of China-Panama infrastructure cooperation. Once completed, the bridge will greatly improve logistics turnover in the canal area and create new strategic support for shipping-related trade and cross-border logistics.

02 High-Level Dialogue: Visit to the Chinese Embassy in Panama

During the visit, the delegation was received by Counselor Zhou at the Chinese Embassy in Panama and held in-depth discussions with embassy representatives.

As the official hub for China-Panama economic and trade cooperation, the embassy provides authoritative policy guidance for investment, trade and compliant business operations. The visit further clarified policy directions and cooperation paths for China-Panama copper-resource cooperation and cross-border financial services, strengthening the official-resource foundation for future expansion.

03 Local Connections: Business Dinner and Entrepreneur Dialogue

A business reception dinner was held during the visit, featuring a keynote speech by a local Panamanian entrepreneur.

The dinner focused on practical business operations in Panama, local supply-chain resources, finance and shipping support services. The open and inclusive business philosophy of local entrepreneurs and their strong acceptance of cross-border cooperation strengthened the Farquan team's confidence in developing the Panamanian market.

Future Direction: From Starting Point to Deep Engagement

Based on this three-dimensional study combining field research, official engagement and local resources, Shanghai Farquan Industry Co., Ltd. identified the following priorities:

Canal shipping support trade — leveraging the Fourth Bridge project and the canal's navigation advantages

China-Panama copper-resource cooperation — connecting embassy policy resources with local supply chains

International exhibition and trade platforms — participating in Panama's international trade fairs

Cross-border financial services — leveraging Panama's concentration of more than 100 banks
