This series of original robot arthropods developed along with my techniques to fabricate them. It's a series of experimentation with materials and technique. One of the experiments, even now, is to incorporate mechanisms. The B-33TL3 combines all the learned techniques from previous sculptures along with a “simple” mechanism to reveal her internal workings.

The B-33TL3’s design is based on the anatomical structure of a Coccinellidae (Ladybug), while her color scheme is inspired by a genus of Weevil called Eupholus. Her spots have been re-imagined as holes in the elytra for exhaust stacks and is hinged to open, revealing a mini beetle engine.

  • She is an original sculpture made of wire, clay, and a few other additional parts. She is a free standing sculpture, not permanently affixed to a base.
  • She dimension are 4″ wide, 4 1/2″ front to back, 2″ tall. She is fragile and should be handled sparingly, very gently, and is most definitely not a toy.

Comes complete with…

  • Handpainted “Solafar” wooden cigar box (7 1/4″x 5 1/2″x 3 1/2″): for safe transport and classy display
  • Mossy bedding (artificial): for impact dampening and to mimic the B-33TL3’s unnatural habitat

This is a one of a kind work of art, never to be exactly reproduced.
