I haven’t started any new pieces since the last post… instead I’ve been tweaking this website. I reworked the Portfolio page to lessen the effects from the annoying white boxes that pop up when you would hover over a thumbnail image. I’ve also added a Shop, which besides being sparse, has no payment options. I’m working on it but, for the time being, if something interests you I’ve inserted links to my Contact page where we can discuss additional options and I can direct you to my PayPal. Whether or not you’re in the market for an awesome handmade belt buckle or a dragon lighter case, just take a look and let me know what you think about the changes. Honest opinions are welcome and if you have any suggestions, I appreciate those too.
I’ve gotten started on my son’s Backyard Bug Guide. The dragonfly depicted here is one of my drawings from the bug guide while the other 3 are spider I still need to add. I did some research on one of the spiders that I assumed was a Wolf spider… and it wasn’t! It’s a type of Selenopidae AKA a wall crab spider AKA “Flatty”. As I was searching the interweb for more information regarding “Flatties” one of the first sites that popped up had it listed as “One of the top 10 deadly spiders”! It was the only place on the interweb that claims it’s deadly though; everywhere else I searched said no such thing. A Florida Nature site lists the same spider as “Unidentified”. This isn’t the first time I’ve discovered that science isn’t always an exact science.
