It has been a weary weary road of building this website since I hadn’t a clue how. My brother, besides being a pastor, builds websites and put this idea in my head. I, with a new son in town, made room this past week to bang-this-sucka-out only to find out Chad would be at camp, pastoring. I trudged on without him, slowly learning the ins and outs of WordPress.
Art has always been in my life, so much so, that I majored in acting performance. My favorite aspect of acting is how collaborative it is. Even if you’re doing a one-man-show there’s a lot of people involved. Since then, my chosen path brought me to a more secluded place artistically. Although I miss acting, new doors have opened: a life, a wife, a son. Yard work and home improvements have some of my artistic attention now (there’s an art to doing laundry); but to sculpt is the ultimate for me now.
Sculpting is now “what I’m good at”. I sculpt it in my spare time. I try to get better with every piece I do (and I do). I scour the interweb for tips and tutorials. This is my effort to bring that old collaboration back. As I continue this blog I will document commissioned pieces by artists… by you. By sharing my ideas and techniques I hope to open the floor for your thoughts, questions and designs… COLLABORATION!
I am currently speaking with a couple artist friends who’d expressed interests in a chess set. I’ve had a few ideas for chess sets myself. Have you?
