It's coming down to the final hours... I hate when this happens. We knew a kink would rear it's head in this process,but who knew it'd be rolled in a riddle. I'm making a mold of the Owl now, and the cure time is 5 hours. Five hours for the new stuff I'm trying: Smooth-On, Dragonskin 10 Medium. That's right... I found it at my local art store and was curious to check it out. This Zippo case was not on the agenda, so in using what I've got, I'm faced with a 5 hour dry time. It's supposed to be a very stretchy "high performance" silicone rubber, so I'm considering trying this Owl case as a 2 part mold (easier, MAYBE). Last time, I spent an absurd amount of time creating barriers to make a 3-part-molds only to have the separate sections congeal into one chunk. I'm wondering if I should risk destroying ANOTHER...

My wife had commented on how my last post, about the Murphy desk, was “instructionally vague". I must admit though, it was sorta on purpose. As I've said before, “This this the way I do it. There are many other ways.” Well... that wasn't quite the the case with the Murphy desk... simply because I really had no clue what I was doing. So far so good though.
