Space change.. activate!

desk007

I've finally moved all my art crap and finished the Murphy desk - aesthetics be damned. The desk gives me more storage room and it's strategically high so I don't die from sitting... terrible.               The wooden thing above began as a simple murphy bed I built when the mother-in-law came to town. The design utilizes a big metal bar for the movement.                   First, I removed the bed portion and cut it in half.                               Next, I strategically drilled a series of holes to allow the desk to rotate properly. Just to recap, this is where I was set up...

As you may recall, I needed to move my creative space since my son's in his vacuum-cleaner-stage. It must be natures way of warming up his digestive system. Leaves and dust are one thing, but NOT the scraps from my desk. On the left side of the image you can see what looks like a cluttered shelf with 2x4s and plywood. That's the frame for the Murphy bed I had built. I've taken the platform outside to modify into a desk. Below, you can see how the Murphy bed operated... simple. I'd like to get the desk done already or else I'll be stuck posting about IT until I have a space to work on!   Tweet
